Bubble Box Laundry
Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. Here’s how Bubble Box collects, uses and protects your information when you visit our laundries or use our website. We’ve kept it simple, so you know exactly what to expect.
1About this policy
Bubble Box Laundry (“Bubble Box”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is the trading name of J&B Collective Pty Ltd (ABN 37 646 746 527). We run self-service laundries in Manly, Dee Why and Newport on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), to the extent they apply to us.
You don’t need to give us any personal information to use our laundries — just tap and pay at the machine.
2What we collect
When you contact us
If you contact us (for example by email or phone) with a question, a business enquiry, a refund request or about something you left behind, we collect the information you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and the details of your enquiry. If you ask for a refund, we may ask for the store location, machine number (if you know it), approximate time and the payment details you provide, so we can look into it.
When you pay at a machine
Payments are securely processed by our third-party payment providers. Bubble Box does not receive or store your full card number.
When you visit our website
Like most websites, when you visit, standard technical information (such as your IP address, browser and device type, and the pages you view) is processed by the service providers that host and deliver our website.
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep it working properly and remember your preferences. It may also use analytics tools to help us understand, in general terms, how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visits last, and the type of device and browser used. You can set your browser to block or delete cookies, although some parts of the site may not work as well.
Our website also uses third-party services, such as Google Fonts to display text, and our “Get directions” links open Google Maps. These services may receive standard technical data such as your IP address and browser details, and handle it under their own privacy policies.
Security camera footage
CCTV operates in our stores to help keep customers safe, protect our stores and equipment, and investigate incidents. This means we may collect footage of people visiting our stores.
Social media
If you interact with us on social media, those platforms handle your information under their own privacy policies, and we may see what you share with us there.
3How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your questions and enquiries;
- look into machine faults and arrange refunds;
- help you recover items left behind;
- run, maintain and improve our stores, machines and website;
- keep our stores, customers and equipment safe and secure, and investigate incidents;
- meet our legal obligations.
We use your contact details to respond to your enquiries. We don’t sell your personal information.
5Storage and security
We store personal information electronically using reputable service providers and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure — for example, by limiting access to people who need it and using password-protected accounts.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, and then delete or de-identify it. CCTV footage is retained for as long as reasonably necessary for security, safety and incident investigations, subject to applicable legal requirements.
No method of sending or storing information online is completely secure, so please don’t email us your full card number.
6Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it’s wrong, out of date or incomplete. Just email hello@bubblebox.com.au. We’ll respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days). We may need to check your identity first, and in limited cases the law allows us to refuse access — if so, we’ll tell you why.
7Privacy complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, please email hello@bubblebox.com.au with the details. We’ll look into it and get back to you, usually within 30 days.
If you’re not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
8Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we change how our website works or the services we use. The latest version will always be on this page, with the “Last updated” date at the top.
